Rev. John B. Ledford, D.Min. - Intentional Interim Minister

Rev. Dr. John B. Ledford has served First Christian Church of Greensboro since May 1, 2007 as the Intentional Interim Minister. He is from Kentucky originally and grew up in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Dr. Ledford is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee. Following college he enrolled in Lexington Theological Seminary, Lexington, Kentucky and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. He later completed the Doctor of Ministry degree at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his basic training in interim ministry through the Interim Ministry Network, Baltimore, Maryland and has been serving as an Intentional Interim Minister since 2003.

Dr. Ledford has served congregations in Kentucky, Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He was an active duty chaplain in the U.S. Army from 1974-1979. While living in Pennsylvania and serving as the pastor of First Christian Church of Washington, he was elected as the Moderator of the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania.

His wife Carolyn is an Associate Professor in the College of Education at East Carolina University. They have two children, Jeffrey and his wife Cherie live and work in Asheville, NC. Lisa and her husband Ahmed live in Muscat, Oman.

Joshua Gentry - Interim Youth Director

Josh was born in Winston-Salem, NC and resides in Lewisville, NC. He is a graduate of Western Carolina University, where he achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management and Marketing. He is currently seeking to attend graduate school, where he intends to earn his Masters in Divinity.

Josh loves all sports, he played baseball growing up and enjoys a variety of sports such as golf, baseball, softball, basketball, and Frisbee golf. He loves movies, shopping, and traveling. He has 3 dogs and loves the show Entourage on HBO.

Jody Henley - Director of Choirs

Jody H. Henley is a North Carolina native, and has spent most of her life in our community. She received both her Master of Music and her Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and is a National Board Licensed Teacher. Jody has taught choral music at grades K-12 and undergraduate courses at UNCG School of Music after earning all three levels of Orff Certification.

With 23 years as a music specialist for Guilford County Schools, her choirs have been invited to perform at many prestigious venues, including the White House, the Governor's Mansion, Biltmore House, and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Her choirs consistently receive Superior ratings at State Contest, earning over 50 Superiors in 15 years while serving as Chapter President for Alpha Delta Kappa, District President and Contest Adjudicator for the North Carolina Music Educators Association.

She has been married to Dan Henley for 23 years, and is the proud mother of two talented musicians, Megan and Weston. Her hobbies are colonial history, needlework, grant-writing, and cooking.
